Step Inside

The spacious dining room will hold a table for eight and Grandmother's china cabinet! Serve a romantically lit dinner under the coordinating chandelier.
Home Cookin'
The roomy kitchen has 5 large windows, 4 of which are over the sink and overlook the back garden. Over the windows is a gingerbread trimmed shelf on which you can display your collectables and plants. Light and bright, the kitchen features white painted cabinets topped by a wood countertop which is period appropriate as well as easy to clean. (Warning: Do not cut any type of food directly on the countertop). The Meat and Poultry Hotline recommends that consumers use plastic or glass surfaces for cutting raw meat and poultry.
To prevent cross contamination of food, use separate cutting boards for raw meats and produce or clean/sanitize cutting boards when switching between types of food products such as from raw meats to produce, and from raw foods to cooked.
Color-coded plastic cutting boards are a useful way to prevent cross-contamination such as red for meat, green for produce, yellow for poultry).
As a bonus, an antique, newly restored Hoosier cabinet provides extra storage. From the time that people first starting building houses in which to live cabinets similar to these served families. They were referred to as "kitchen furniture."
Oak floors gleam beneath your feet throughout the entire house except for the bathrooms. Easy care, they compliment any style of décor. We will provide you with a floor care kit that you can use to keep them clean and beautiful.
Beside the kitchen is the second bathroom which features period appropriate white tile, a tiled shower and a darling corner sink. Tucked beside the shower is a stacked washer/dryer.
Gracious Living
Or, you may enter off the porch, through the "parlor" door. Once used to receive guests, the parlor has been transformed into a beautiful master suite, complete with an en suite bath and walk-in closet. Painted a refreshing pear, its large windows are trimmed with fluted moldings as are its doors. An upscale ceiling fan provides a cooling breeze for comfortable slumber or for relaxing with a book. There are cable and phone hook-ups in here as well.
The bath is tiled and with its Victorian lighting fixtures, looks just like the gleaming white bathrooms of the day. In the late 1800's, germs were discovered as the cause of illness so bathrooms and kitchens were painted white to look and be, clean and sanitary!
There is a linen closet in the hallway which leads to the second bedroom/office, also cooled by a ceiling fan and equipped with cable and phone hook-ups.
